PROCEDURES AND RANKING IN DEPED AND PASSING THE R.Q.A.

When I about to decide to enter DepEd, I ask myself if I am technically qualified. Good thing DepEd is very transparent in providing criteria or guidelines to enter DepEd as a Teacher. To be specific DepEd release a Department Order no. 3 series of 2016. The DO_3s2016 Since I am applying for Senior High School teacher, and my qualifications falls on Academic strand, what I will share is merely on ABM track only.


Education - 20 points

I Got 11 points for this one, since my undergraduate grades average is about 86%. I never add my 18 units in education as well as my 15 units in MBA.

Teaching/industry/Workplace experience-15 points

I got a perfect points for this, since i am have eight years working experience as a private employee of a bank. to compute:

8years less 1year= 7years, 7years is the only years to be count.
7years is equal to 84months, and every month of experience is equal to .50 points.
therefore I got 42 points, which exceeded the 15 points. but the creditable points is only 15 points.


Specialized Training-10points

this are the training, workshop, symposium, and seminars evidence by certificates which applicants attended with at least 2 days of length.
I just got 5points for this one. I presented all my certificates, even if it is only for one 1 day, i also presented my National certificates from tesda. It is still question for me why i just got 5 points for this one. However, even i am done with my demonstration and interview, i try to submit additional certificates.


Interview - 15points
i got 13 points? i'm not for this one.
We are given a schedule date of interview and Demonstration in Division office, the interviewer are compose of three. A one on one interview will be conducted, each one will give you points. Then, the average points from the three interviewer will be your final points.

Demonstration - 20 points
I assumed i got 15 points for demonstration. we are given the chance to choose our topic, since i am in Banking my topic is about "interest". This is the most crucial part of the application process, since this part is consist of 20 points, we are clueless what type of judges or demonstration assessor we will facing with. I presented my demonstration thru a powerpoint presentation, which only last for about a 1 minute, since, assessors cut my demonstration, and explain later that they cut the demonstration, not because it is not good, or bad. but, they already knew how the demonstration will go.

English Communication Skills-10 points.
I got a 5.56 points from this one. It actually a written examination or English Proficiency Test (EPT) a scheduled exam for all applicants.


Until now I dont know my final score, the Division Office told me that I already enter the Register of Qualified Applicants (R.Q.A.) which scores a 70 and up points. Which i enjoy right now, currently I am in Mass Training of teachers in Tuguegarao City. I hope this article will help other aspirant applicants.
